Within the EU-funded ENPARD programme, ACF implements the project “Participatory Integrated Community Development in Abkhazia”. Duration of the project is:August 2016 – February 2018.
The aim of the project is to improve living conditions and access to basic services in rural areas of Abkhazia while promoting community participation in local development processes. The project establishes the LAG (Local Action Group) giving particular emphasis to the involvement of women, youth, the elderly and people with disabilities. As well as that, the project involves drafting local development strategy and financing sub-project proposals that will implement the strategy. Additionally, the project supports the development of new training courses at ATC (Agricultural Training Center) aiming to improve the accountability and service delivery to farmers. These activities are expected to strengthen the ability of local actors to engage in rural development approach and in the process of elaborating the strategy. To develop strong local sub-projects that will contribute to the implementation of the Local Development Strategy and its objectives. The project will also increase the access to quality agricultural extension services.
