EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell visited ENPARD beneficiary cheese factory in Tetritskaro municipality
On 5th November 2018, EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell, in the scope of his first official trip to Kvemo Kartli, paid a visit to cheese factory “Tsintskaro +” in the village Tsintskaro, Tetritskaro municipality. The factory is supported by EU through the ENPARD rural development project implemented by RDFG in Tetritskaro.
“Tsintskaro +” offers wide and unique variety of cheese to the consumers. The production and processing of the products, as well as the work environment and hygiene requirements are in line with EU standards. The factory is one of the winners of the first grant competition announced by RDFG in the framework of ENPARD rural development project. With EU grant support the factory plans to expend the range of its products.
During the visit, EU Ambassador viewed the sanitary conditions, production techniques, production process and quality standards ensured in the factory. Mr. Hartzell also tried different varieties of “Tsintskaro +” branded cheese.
At present, the factory sells its products locally in Georgia. However, the Ambassador noted that the high production quality and standards will allow the factory to operate beyond the local markets.
After the visit, the Ambassador joined the Europe Day celebration event in Marneuli, where several ENPARD and RDFG beneficiaries from Tetritskaro municipality presented EU-funded agricultural and rural development products: honey, different types of wine, chacha, whiskey, apple brandy (calvados), raspberry, others. Moreover, the ENPARD tent was attended by the members of EU-supported Tetritskaro rural development project, Local Action Group (LAG), beneficiaries of RDFG employment programme and youth from the municipality’s young farmers’ centers.
