On 26-28 July 2018, in the framework of the EU-funded European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), the members of Borjomi and Lagodekhi Local Action Groups (LAGs) visited Kazbegi Municipality. The purpose of the visit was to participate in a fundraising training and to visit EU-funded rural development initiatives in Kazbegi Municipality.
The fundraising training provided information on the practical and theoretical knowledge of the grant proposal writing and fundraising ways and methods to members of LAGs. Training was held by invited expert Lika Margania.
The training was quite informative. Participants designed and presented concept notes based on the knowledge received during the sessions.
On the second day of the visit, the LAG members visited the EU ENPARD funded sub-projects in Kazbegi Municipality.
The participants were content with the visit as it helped to deepen linkages between Borjomi and Lagodekhi LAGs. The knowledge gained during the training sessions will help them to develop project proposals and obtain funds from various different donors, which will promote the strengthening and sustainability of LAGs.
The European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) has been implemented in Georgia since 2013. The programme aims at reinvigorating the agriculture and the rural sector in the country with a thorough cooperation of government, civil society, and rural community.
