Participants of EU Grant Competition in Khulo Took Part in Trainings on Full Grant Application Writing

In the framework of the EU funded project “Promotion Rural Development and Diversification in Khulo Municipality”, Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia (CCRG) and Khulo Local Action Group (LAG) have completed the first phase of the second Rural Development (RD) grant competition in Khulo Municipality.
During the first phase of the second RD grant competition, Khulo LAG has evaluated 214 project initiatives, out of which, 120 initiatives meeting with the priorities and objectives of the Khulo Local Development Strategy (LDS) 2018-2022 has been selected.
The trainings on preparation of Full Project Application forms has been conducted for the selected applicants. The trainings comprised the following topics: SWOT analyses of the project, understanding of competitive advantages, selection and justification of pricing strategies and production costs. The knowledge of the mentioned topics will help the beneficiaries to develop and fill full project application form.  The training was led by Nika Qoiava, experienced trainer and associated professor at Ilia State University. Each training lasted one day. In total, 98 applicants attended the trainings.
The Project is implemented by the Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia (CCRG) in partnership with PMC RC and Croatian Rural Development Network (HMRR), with the financial support of European Union, under the European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development in Georgia – ENPARD II.
The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million, the main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. The first phase of ENPARD in Georgia focused on developing the potential of agriculture. The second and third phases of ENPARD focus on creating economic opportunities for rural population that go beyond agricultural activities. More information on ENPARD is available at: www.enpard.ge.
